Wassily Kandinsky, born in 1866 in Moscow, was a Russian painter and art theorist, and is considered a pioneer of abstract art. He explored colors and the connection between painting and music. Together with Franz Marc, he founded the "Blue Rider" and taught at the Bauhaus. His works can be seen, among other places, in the Guggenheim and the Louvre.
