Individually handmade
When DCUK discovered the Indian Runner Duck, DCUK was introduced to a culture rich in stories and crafts. The tradition of puppetry is deeply rooted in Indonesia, where generations of sculptors and artists have carved expressive figures from the humble bamboo roots. DCUK works with artisans in Indonesia, bringing stability and trust to families and communities. A partnership that means that local creative skills will continue to be valued and appreciated.
Environmentally conscious
Each DCUK piece is hand-carved, using locally harvested bamboo cuttings that would otherwise be lost. Bamboo root and is not only an eco-friendly material, but its distinctive grain gives the ducks a beautiful texture.
