The Three Kings, which complement the nativity scene arrangement from August, enchant with their own charm - through the golden accents, the distinctive board arms and the interplay of brilliant colourfulness, strongly contrasting shades and the use of muted colours. The decoration of the clothes is truly royal: fine stripes and floral patterns as well as artistic ornaments are astonishing. In the reissue of the Kings, which Grete Wendt designed in 1910/11 on behalf of the Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau, we analyzed sketches and technical drawings, examined sample figures of various production years, studied old photographs. Different color variants and decorations were available and the posture also varied. When transferring the historical models into production, we selected the figure variants that correspond to today's zeitgeist and are nevertheless connected to tradition.
